Identification technology in a cyberpunk world.

Documents can be forged. If something can be created, it can be duplicated. Cryptographic signatures and challenge-authentication algorithms have mitigated this.

Biometrics is obsolete when the body itself can be engineered. With gene therapy, even the DNA signature of a person can be altered.


We've got cryptographic signing and 2FA today, so that much has come to pass in 25 years. We're not up to retina reconfiguration, but we've got CRISPR.
